Formula Electric Belgium
Formula Electric Belgium is a team of 50 motivated engineering students from the KU Leuven and Thomas More. The team was founded in 2015 after a merge of two Belgian teams: Formula GroupT and Thomas More Innovation. With these two teams already performing in the Formula Student electric competitions, this became the path to follow for Formula Electric Belgium.
Following their vision: “Green innovation meets performance”, the team strives to build a better car with new innovative technologies each year again, concluding in a first place at the design competition of Formula Student Czech Republic 2018 with Umicore Pulse. This was the successor of Umicore Nova, a four-wheel driven car equipped with the dSPACE MicroAutoBox II.
At the moment, the team is building its 11th car which will be, after Umicore Pulse, the 3rd car with a four-wheel drive. Besides this, the team is also experimenting with some prototypes to start competing in the driverless competitions in the close future.
