dSPACE Strengthens Product Portfolio for Autonomous Driving and Data Management by Acquiring Intempora

Full integration of software tools from Intempora completes solutions for data-driven development

Paderborn/Issy-les-Moulineaux, July 9th, 2020. dSPACE, a leading provider of solutions for the development of connected, automated, and electrically powered vehicles, has acquired Intempora, a pioneer in the area of real-time development software. This acquisition strengthens the comprehensive dSPACE product portfolio for autonomous driving. The two companies already have a long-standing strategic partnership, leading to the integration of the Intempora real-time multisensor application software RTMaps into several dSPACE solutions. Through this acquisition, dSPACE offers a unique, comprehensive, and reliable end-to-end solution for customers in the automotive industry as well as optimized support for their innovative development projects.

As software is a key component of intelligent vehicles, RTMaps becomes an important driver in the development of algorithms for autonomous driving – from rapid prototyping to deployment on the most recent ECUs. The software significantly simplifies engineer’s efforts to capture, timestamp, synchronize, and replay data from various sensors, offering versatility and outstanding performance. Complementary solutions from Intempora include the data tagging software RTag, and the Intempora Validation Suite (IVS) – a cloud-based data management platform for petabytes of recorded data and finding relevant test scenarios. The Intempora software rounds off the functional scope of the dSPACE range of products for data-driven development, closing the gap between data recording, data management, and software validation.

“The leading solutions and highly qualified team at Intempora further strengthen our software portfolio and consistently increase our competencies. We now offer our customers an open, consistent, and even higher performance solution that covers the entire AD development process, from data logging and data enrichment to data replay, scenario generation, and simulation. Based on our end-to-end competencies, we comprehensively support our customers independent of whether they use our integrated solutions or individual components,” said Martin Goetzeler, CEO of the dSPACE Group.

”As part of the dSPACE group companies, we are able to develop our software quickly and in line with the dSPACE end-to-end solutions. This puts us in an excellent position to support the increasingly complex customer projects in the field of data-driven development. Joining forces with dSPACE is the logical consequence of our years of collaboration. In addition, both companies share the same high standards with regard to performance, reliability, and user-friendliness of their products” said Nicolas du Lac, CEO of Intempora.

Intempora, a French software company founded in 2000, has over 20 years of knowledge and expertise in providing advanced software solutions for the automotive industry, especially with real-time multisensor applications, which play an essential role in automated driving (AD), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and robotics.
