Um die Entwicklung und den Test intelligenter Fahrsysteme zu vereinfachen, hat TNO Automotive den intelligenten Prüfstand für Fahrsysteme VEHIL (Vehicle Hardware-in-the-Loop) entwickelt. VEHIL besteht aus dem Testfahrzeug, aus Roboterfahrzeugen (Moving Bases, MB), die andere Verkehrsteilnehmer darstellen, und aus der Prüfstandsteuerung. Aufgrund der guten Erfahrungen aus vergangenen Projekten hat sich TNO auch in diesem Fall wieder für dSPACE Prototyper entschieden. Das Regler-Prototyping für die Fahrgestelle wurde mit der dSPACE AutoBox realisiert.
