Viele Jahre kam bei PSA Peugeot Citroën für das Prototyping neuer Motorsteuerungsfunktionen ein intern entwickeltes, teilweise auf dSPACE-Hardware basierendes Tool zum Einsatz. Dann machte ein neues Motorsteuerungskonzept mit hochkomplexen TPU-Funktionen (Time Processor Unit) ein neues Prototyping-Tool mit noch mehr Leistung erforderlich. Durch die Leistungsfähigkeit der dSPACE-Prototyping-Hardware ist es möglich, die neuen Aufgaben anzugehen und gleichzeitig für zukünftige Projekte skalierbar zu bleiben.
