ODX in an ECU Calibration System

Calibrating diagnostics-relevant parts of software for electronic control units (ECUs) accounts for a considerable proportion of overall calibration effort. Users are therefore increasingly asking for diagnostics support directly integrated in their calibration tool. The ODX (ASAM-MCD 2D) standard for describing diagnostic communication with ECUs is growing in importance in this context. In com-bination with the established ECU description format ASAM-MCD 2MC (ASAP2), ODX allows completely standard-based and integrated development tools: for measurement, calibration, diagnostics – and also for flash programming.
