"I love the variety and the challenges that arise here every day."
Michael, Customer Service
I already worked with dSPACE products at university and found it fascinating how quickly solutions are developed at dSPACE – and how easy they are for engineers to use. Because of this experience, I really enjoyed using dSPACE development hardware to validate model-based control methods on mechatronic test benches as part of my research work at university. Even back then, I was struck by the company's efforts to keep up with the latest technical innovations, which enriched my work and stayed with me.
I've been a part of the Project Center Wolfsburg team since 2021 and mainly work at our customer's plant. I get to know the latest requirements, can help develop new technologies, and try them out directly.
Demand from automotive manufacturers has grown enormously in recent years, particularly in the area of simulation and testing. Today, many more control units with complex functions are used in many more different vehicles than in the past. All of them have to be put through their paces. Our customers have set up impressively large areas with complete vehicle HIL test benches for this purpose. This allows chains of effect between the integrated components to be mapped across all vehicles and examined with regard to their functionality.
As a resident engineer, I act as the interface between the customer's development department and the production department in Paderborn, taking care of existing HIL systems and test setups as well as the engineering of new products. These tasks are varied and immensely exciting. I love the variety and the challenges that arise here every day. I also really like working with lots of different people and thereby being part of different worlds. On the one hand, there is the highly professional, solution-oriented team in the project center and at the headquarters in Paderborn, and on the other hand, there is the partnership-based cooperation with the customers, who we never leave alone with their development tasks. I very much value this environment.
"Our innovative strength and appreciative mindset inspire me."
Joachim, Team Lead
I've been with dSPACE since 2021 and started as an application engineer. I am now a team lead in HIL testing for customer projects at dSPACE.
I had already worked with dSPACE products such as MicroAutoBox II during my studies and was impressed by their functionality and flexible application possibilities. At the latest, after the guest lecture by a dSPACE employee – and current colleague – I wanted to know more about the company, because I was very interested in the field of work. When I applied here, I was very impressed by the appreciative and friendly interview. I felt that I was valued as a person and not just as an employee.
At dSPACE, I like the high level of expertise and innovative strength that prevails here. Two thirds of the team are engineers. We know what we are doing, help each other, and always look for the best solutions for our customers. I like the solution-oriented attitude: We look for the best ways to overcome challenges – and new ones appear regularly.
We deal objectively with mistakes, there is no finger pointing, but constructive feedback. My manager always supports me and has my back if there are problems. They also give me the freedom to contribute and implement my own ideas. It is precisely this mindset that I want to bring to my own team, which I have been leading since the beginning of the year. Our tasks are exciting and challenging. I am always in contact with my team and our customers. I can stand up for issues that are important to me.
I think it's great that I can develop and "grow" here.
We are a great team, with an open and informal first-name culture. We also like to do things together after work, do sports with EGYM Wellpass company fitness, or go on trips together.
