Vehicle Parameterization

Vehicle data and parameters may be available in different formats, e.g. axle geometries from design drawings, vehicle and wheel suspensions from multibody simulation tools, vehicle parameters from vehicle dynamics simulation tools, etc. dSPACE offers a variety of converters to automatically transfer and validate this data in the ASM simulation, so that the full functionality of the dSPACE tool chain can be used.

Limited Offer

Switch to Automotive Simulation Models (ASM) and benefit from dSPACE as a turn-key provider for your simulation and validation. Try out ASM with your own set of vehicle parameters and get the conversion tool for free when you decide to purchase ASM.

Conditions to benefit from this offer:

  • Purchase new ASM licenses.
  • We convert one vehicle dynamics parameter set for you for free!
  • Receive the conversion tool for free!

CarMaker®, CarSim®, and ADAMS Converters

CarMaker®, CarSim®, and ADAMS Converters

Both the CarMaker® converter and the CarSim® converter can automatically import and convert the corresponding vehicle parameterizations into the ASM tool chain. This means that the full ASM functionality can be used after the conversion process.
The ADAMS Converter, which is part of the ASM Vehicle Dynamics product, also offers the option of automatically transferring vehicle models from the multi-body simulation tool ADAMS/Car® to ASM and validating the model on the basis of measurements.

ASM KnC

ASM KnC

ASM KnC (Kinematics and Compliance) is a virtual test bench for the design and simulation of wheel suspensions. Users are thus able to virtually test and optimize suspensions for numerous vehicle variants and driving maneuvers.

Validation

Validation

To evaluate the simulation quality, dSPACE offers a validation tool. The input for this tool can be real measurements or simulations from third-party simulators. The combination of conversion and validation tools is ideal for importing parameters from third-party simulators into ASM. The result of the validation is a report with comparison charts that provide reliable and documented information about the conversion quality.

Key takeaways

  • Automated workflow for re-simulation of reference data
  • Steering and speed profile as input
  • Report generation incl. KPI calculation
  • Compliant with ISO 7401 and ISO 22140

Certified According to ISO 26262

Certified According to ISO 26262

ASM Vehicle Dynamics Converter was certified by TÜV SÜD according to ISO 26262 for safety-relevant systems in motor vehicles. The tool is thus suitable to be used in safety-related development projects according to ISO 26262:2018 for any automotive safety integrity level (ASIL).

This means: Vehicle manufacturers and suppliers can exclude ASM Vehicle Dynamics Converter from the ISO 26262 qualification of their entire processes and can concentrate on proving the functional safety of their own process chains.
