DS1552 Multi-I/O Module

Universal I/O Module

The DS1552 Multi-I/O Module is a universal I/O piggyback module with numerous fast, powerful I/O converters and various serial interfaces.

Application Areas

It is easy to install in the MicroAutoBox II 1401/1511/1514 and 1401/1513/1514 and all MicroAutoBox III variants with DS1514 FPGA Base Board.

User-Specific FPGA Programming

The DS1552 provides I/O interfaces for the user-programmable FPGA in MicroAutoBox hardware.

For MicroAutoBox II, the FPGA is programmed by means of a model-based design with the FPGA Programming Blockset1) and the Xilinx® Vitis™ Model Composer HDL Library, the former Xilinx® System Generator Blockset in VDHL or via dSPACE Engineering Services.

ConfigurationDesk serves as the basis for programming the FPGA for MicroAutoBox III.

1) Using the FPGA Programming Blockset requires additional software, i.a. Xilinx® products, please see the relevant product information.

Additional I/O Channels for the Standard I/O

You can supplement the standard I/O interfaces of the MicroAutoBox with additional I/O channels.

For MicroAutoBox II, you can configure all I/O channels by means of the RTI DS1552 I/O Extension Blockset. The FPGA is not user-programmable, and Xilinx® tools are not required in this use case as it is used in a predefined configuration together with the RTI DS1552 I/O Extension Blockset.

For MicroAutoBox III, you can configure all applications via the dSPACE implementation software ConfigurationDesk.
