ControlDesk 2026-A

Newly supported hardware; enhancements to the Bus Navigator, electrical error simulation, and variable management

ControlDesk 2026‑A supports the new SCALEXIO Processing Unit ES, which is a SCALEXIO Processing Unit including LabBox technology for the integration of up to four additional SCALEXIO I/O boards.

The ControlDesk Bus Navigator now officially supports J1939 monitoring, which was introduced with ControlDesk 2025‑B as a preview feature. The monitoring list now provides all standard functionalities for J1939 as well. In addition, the RX and TX instruments for CAN now give you access to the J1939 source and destination addresses. Furthermore, the Manipulation Instrument for CAN now lets you enable recalculation of the safety header message (SHM) checksum for J1939.

For Ethernet frames, the monitoring list of the ControlDesk Bus Navigator now also displays information on the ARP, ICMP, SOME‑IP, and SOME‑IP/SD protocols. In addition, the Ethernet Bus Monitoring device now supports the secured IPDUs and container IPDUs by displaying them, including the related signals, in the Variables pane.

For DDS bus communication modeled with the Configuration Tool for DDS, the Bus Navigator now supports the generation of Bus Instruments.

Starting with ControlDesk 2026‑A, the Bus Navigator supports FlexRay bus monitoring as a preview feature.

The ControlDesk XIL API EESPort user interface now supports the DS5394 CAN Gateway FIU Module, which is a module for connecting up to two ECUs via a CAN gateway and providing failure insertion functions. Furthermore, you can now also use CAN channels of your dSPACE real‑time hardware to control CAN‑based failure simulation hardware.

Furthermore, the ControlDesk variable management now provides the following improvements:

  • Support of A2L files of virtually any size
  • Visualization of string variables with Unicode characters with a length of 1 ... 3 bytes
  • Displaying the encoding of string variables in the Properties pane
  • Defining platform triggers via variable mappings
  • Using triggers for more than one measurement raster
