We share our success. This is why dSPACE is committed to the region around its Paderborn headquarters and also supports projects at its international locations. The focus is on education-promoting initiatives, support for those in need, the sponsoring of school and university students with a talent for technology, and the support of people with disabilities.
As a good neighbor, we are committed to the locations where we live and work.
For example, at the company headquarters in Paderborn: We support Paderborn überzeugt (Paderborn has it all), a special joint endeavor by business and local authorities, aimed at maintaining and enhancing Paderborn's attractiveness.
We support non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and environmental projects with donations, for example, by selling hardware to employees that is no longer used in the company. In 2020, we supported three Paderborn charitable institutions that were particularly affected by the corona pandemic. For more information, click here.
Clubs not only promote different talents but they also help young people develop their personality and particularly their social skills. We therefore make a financial contribution to the clubs in which our employees dedicate their free time to youth development.
With ProMINT, our company founder Herbert Hanselmann has founded an initiative to inspire young people to engage in scientific and technical topics. In this way, the company aims to counteract the shortage of skilled workers at an early stage.
Our program dSPACE & Student Sponsorship is part of the ProMINT initiative that supports academic training of high school graduates with excellent grades, particularly in the subjects mathematics, computer sciences, and physics.
Because the future belongs to innovation, dSPACE is already thinking about tomorrow and helps young researchers get their ideas on the road. For this reason, dSPACE supports Formula Student, an engineering design competition in which international teams of students design and build their own race car to compete on internationally known race tracks, such as Hockenheim or Silverstone.
To establish a Distributed Embedded Systems chair at the Institute of Computer Science at Paderborn University, dSPACE provided two million euros in personnel and non-cash benefits for the winter semester 2013/14. The aim was to strengthen the research focus in the field of embedded systems and to promote interdisciplinary cooperation with the engineering sciences. As of 2016, the chair is part of the Heinz Nixdorf Institute of Paderborn University.
