ドイツのヘルムート・シュミット大学（HSU）／ハンブルク連邦国防軍大学のメカトロニクス学科では、アクティブな騒音低減システムを開発しています。現在は、ターボプロップ航空機向けのアクティブ型システムの研究に焦点を当てています。ターボプロップ航空機はエンジンが強力なため、機内に高い音圧が発生し、それが乗客や乗員には大きな騒音として感じられます。メカトロニクス学科では、騒音低減システムを開発するために、研究と教育の両面でDS1103 PPCコントローラボードを搭載したdSPACE ACE Kitを使用しています。また、特に高度な性能が要求される場合には、2枚のDS1005 PPCボードをベースにしたマルチプロセッサシステムを使用しています。
