VEOS 2023-B

Co-simulation with VEOS; QEMU integration into VEOS simulation

VEOS provides a new interface for co-simulation with other simulators, such as data replay tools and sensor signal simulators. The interface gives access to the CAN, LIN, and Ethernet data and I/O signals of a VEOS simulation. Furthermore, the interface supports tight synchronization with the other simulation participants. The interface is publicly available.
You can now simulate V-ECUs built for the ARM and x86 hardware architectures. This is achieved by emulating the hardware and running the V‑ECUs with QEMU, and integrating the QEMU emulation into a VEOS simulation. Data is exchanged between the VEOS simulation and the synchronized QEMU emulation via Ethernet. QEMU integration is currently supported for VEOS on Linux.
