dSPACE Release 5.2の新機能の1つがVariable Editorです。Variable Editor は、ASAM-MCD 2MC規格による電子制御ユニット（ECU）記述ファイルの作成と編集を容易にするツールです。Variable Editor は非常に柔軟で、スタンドアロンツールとしても、計測および適合ソフトウエアCalDesk、またはRTI Bypass Blocksetの統合コンポーネントとしても使用できます。
