The team drives the practice forward. Just sitting in lectures gets too boring for them in the long run. That’s why they’d rather build cars they can race.
About the team
StarkStrom Augsburg e.V., THE interdisciplinary project at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. Every year, 40–70 motivated students from all faculties join our team to make their dream of building a race car come true. The association offers challenging tasks, the opportunity to take on responsibility early on, and the chance to surpass one’s own limits. The combination of business-like structures and a collegial work environment fosters a high level of commitment and significant personal growth for every team member. This transforms our members into truly “sought-after individuals.”
Since the club’s founding in 2011, the fascination with the project has remained undiminished among all participants. In addition to a motivated student team, we can also rely on the support of a fantastic team of professors and our valued sponsors and partners, who actively support us in every way. We can also count on the help and support of our alumni every year. For many members, the passion for the StarkStrom Augsburg e.V. project never fully wanes, resulting in a team comprising many generations of Formula Student participants. Offering support to future generations and sharing valuable tips is considered a matter of course within the team.
Team profile
Greatest Success |
Our greatest achievement was winning first place in the Driverless category at Formula Student Germany 2022. Last year, we were once again able to come out on top, taking first place in France against other driverless teams from Germany and Switzerland. Regardless of our rankings, however, developing a completely new vehicle together is a major achievement for us every single year. We are particularly proud of that. |
