In this role, you will be responsible for managing and executing projects related to the application and deployment of dSPACE Systems and tools in customer environments/applications. As a senior-level engineer, you will work as part of Project Management to plan, launch, manage, and deliver projects successfully. As a Project Manager, you will help direct other engineers on the project, provide technical expertise in determining execution strategy, and mentor less experience personnel.
Responsibilities
- Manage Application projects, with multi-disciplined teams, to deliver on-time, on-budget and with the quality expected:
- Serve as lead project interface with the customer
- Establish and manage customer requirements and project scope
- Assist sales with the quotation of the project
- Establish and manage project schedule
- Develop work plans, coordinate tasks
- Develop and present project status reports
- Set project team goals for timeliness, customer issues, and quality
- Lead project team to meet goals
- Negotiate resource allocations from functional managers
- Identify program issues as early as possible and drive resolution
- Approve requirements and technical solutions for meeting requirements for all development products
- Assist sales in pre-sales activities, providing technical expertise to help in procuring new projects
- Assist sales and marketing efforts by participating in customer meetings, product presentations, and conferences including publishing on project work and/or technology associated with HIL/modeling applications
- Assist in resource and personnel development by mentoring new engineers and participating in recruiting activities (including university projects like EcoCAR)
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Software)
- 4+ years related experience in project management, embedded systems, or engineering management
- Experience with project planning, problem solving, multi-tasking, project management skills
- Experience in the deployment, usage and support of dSPACE tools
- Ability to teach/mentor others
- Good communication skills
