The introduction of explicit system and software models (e.g., AUTOSAR) means that a model-based approach at system level will become an established method in automotive
software development. This will complement the model-based development of functions and algorithms (e.g., using Simulink®) that is already widely used. Taking the dSPACE products, SystemDesk and TargetLink, this article will mainly describe the interaction
between the two model levels in a production development process.
