October 10, 2013: Developing innovative control systems
The Technische Universität München in Munich, Germany, is working on a number of different innovative software aircraft systems. So that they could perform test flights with the algorithms they developed on a computer, the researchers decided to use a dSPACE prototyping system based on a MicroAutoBox. The system will be used on a Diamond DA-42 MPP airplane from Austrian aircraft manufacturers Diamond Aircraft. This will give the researchers a flexible research platform with which they can comprehensively test their algorithms in real flight and in a wide range of flight situations. This combination of aircraft and MicroAutoBox will be available for use by interested companies.
