In a tool chain that supports an efficient requirements-based test procedure, the key element is a test management system that connects to the requirements world and, at the same time, to the employed test tools and test environments. Linking the requirements, test cases and test results provides the desired full traceability, enables a targeted validation of requirements, and is the basis for comprehensive overviews and reports on requirement coverage.
