UPBracing Team

The UPBracing Team e.V., a student association at the University of Paderborn, was founded in 2006. Since then, the vehicle has been developed further, the know-how of the team members has improved, and the member count has also risen. Beginning with seven founding members in 2006, the team now has more than 200 active and passive members.

The UPBracing Team managed to reduce the weight of its racing vehicle by more than 120 kg. The overall performance also increased over the years thanks to the team developing their own engine test bench with the support of dSPACE. The chassis components were optimized using extensive FEM calculations.

In 2016, the team was especially successful in the static disciplines because of their well-structured preparations. The latest success was a second place for their business plan and a fifth place for their design report. A twelfth place (of 117 participants) in Silverstone and a sixth place (of 33 participants) in Győr, Hungary, rounded off the year.
