Ignition Racing Team electric e.V.

In May 2006, seven students of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences founded the Ignition Racing Team electric e.V. So far, their greatest successes were the top placements in Formula Student Germany in 2014 (sixth place) and 2015 (sixth place). The team scored its best result in Formula Student Spain in 2016 when placing eighth with a total of 612 points.

The team works on the implementation of the newly developed CFK monocoque (single-unit chassis built from carbon-reinforced plastic) and a 600 V accumulator. To analyze the efficiency of the single-engine powertrain early on, the team uses dSPACE MicroAutoBox II for testing the EMRAX-228-HV engine, the BAMOCAR power inverter, and the belt gears, which they developed themselves, on the test bench. The DS1513 I/O Board, which is equipped with six CAN channels and integrated in MicroAutoBox II, ensures continuous and safe bus communication. The tried-and-tested rear-axle steering as well as an optimized aero package improve the dynamic handling in bends.

A group of four Master students is developing additional vehicle concepts for autonomouos driving in the competition class Formula Student Driverless.
