Sales Applications Engineer – Software-in-the-Loop (SIL)

We are seeking a Sales Applications Engineer with a strong interest or background in Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulation and virtual validation technologies. This position combines technical insight and commercial awareness, supporting our UK customers as they explore and adopt dSPACE’s innovative SIL solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys customer engagement, technical discussions, and demonstrating how dSPACE technologies deliver real business and engineering value.

Your Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand their technical needs and present dSPACE SIL solutions that meet their requirements.
• Support the sales process by preparing and delivering technical demonstrations, presentations, and workshops focused on Software-in-the-Loop workflows.
• Explain the benefits of virtual ECUs (vECUs), co-simulation environments, and cloud-based SIL scaling for development and testing efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and sales teams to design tailored solutions and proposals.
• Maintain close communication with customers to ensure satisfaction and adoption success, building trusted long-term relationships.
• Stay up to date with industry trends in virtual validation, automotive networks, and cloud deployment.

• Willingness to relocate to Melbourn.

Your Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automotive, or Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Understanding of Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) principles and model-based development processes.
• Familiarity with MATLAB®/Simulink®, FMI/FMU, and embedded software validation workflows.
• Awareness of virtual ECU development, co-simulation, and cloud-based scaling (e.g. AWS, Azure).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate complex technology into clear customer value.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable engaging with technical and commercial stakeholders.
