新型「Mitsubishi Outlander」を開発するにあたり、20個以上のネットワーク化された電子制御ユニット（ECU）と、さまざまな電気駆動装置を扱うことのできるテストシステムが必要となりました。三菱自動車はネットワーク化された機能の組込みテストを早い段階から実施することで、決定している発売時期の順守と品質要件の実現を同時に目指しました。バーチャルビークルとして設計されたテストシステムは、dSPACEのネットワークシミュレータとAutomotive Simulation Models（ASM）で構成されています。
