The development and quality management of modern electronic control units require test automation that can connect to external systems such as test management tools and diagnostic tools, which in themselves are not non-real-time capable, and at the same time support test cases with time-critical actions and reactions that must be implemented in real time. This article presents a number of practical examples that demonstrate how these two worlds can be combined.
