Camera Module

Realistic simulation of camera and fish-eye camera sensor

Simulation of a camera front end and sensor environment based on mathematically formulated physical laws. It allows for injecting data in raw format in the electronics behind the imager chip.

The Sensor Simulation products based on MotionDesk can no longer be purchased.

Instead, we offer our new generation of visualization and sensor simulation software: AURELION.

Application Area

The Camera Module is designed for the simulation and validation of camera-based assistance and automated driving functions. It is an integral part of Sensor Simulation. The software module allows for camera simulation based on the light propagation and measurement principle of the imager chip. The module provides realistic, physics-based simulation of camera sensors with high variety of configuration options. In addition, an API can be used to extend the functionality of the camera simulation for data processing algorithms and to include custom models. The Camera Module supports the simulation of several imager chips and multiple cameras for a 360° view.

Components and Characteristics

  • Mono and stereo cameras
  • RGB (24 Bit)
  • Bayer pattern (12 and 24 Bit)
  • Lens distortion (fisheye etc.)
  • Chromatic aberration
  • Vignetting
