For the testing of electronic brake systems under realistic operating conditions, dSPACE offers test benches with real brake components.
How to Test the Brake Systems Without Risks
Testing braking systems is essential but can be risky, especially in corner test cases. Test benches allow you to test the real braking components in a simulated environment under realistic operating conditions without danger to the equipment, the vehicle, or any test driver.
Modern brake systems are highly integrated systems with multiple ECUs. dSPACE test benches provide various interfaces for connecting different braking systems and thus offer a reliable, long-time investment.
- Real-time-capable
- Support of various interfaces
- Connection of the following components, e.g., brake pedal, iBooster, and ESP with hydraulic component
Key Benefits
With the dSPACE braking test benches, you can create a test environment for virtual test drives to evaluate and analyze real braking systems at an early stage using different control and function algorithms. Our braking test benches are designed to test real brake components up to complete brake systems under realistic operating conditions. For this purpose, the vehicle dynamics are simulated, and the effective braking forces are applied to the brake by a linear actuator.
The general system setup includes a brake robot, a real-part compartment, and the hardware-in-the-loop system for computing the simulation models. In the real-part compartment, the hydraulic brake system can be installed, including all related components, from the brake pedal to the brake caliper and brake discs as well as all of the relevant control units.
