最新の電子制御ユニット（ECU）は、非常に多くの制御ロジックと高いレベルのネットワーク機能を備えているため、1個のECUで数百個のソフトウエアコンポーネントを処理することは、かなり一般的になってきました。このようなシステムや、その複雑さに対応することは、車両メーカーやサプライヤにとって大きな負担となってきています。この課題を解決するため、dSPACEは車載ソフトウエア開発用のツールチェーンに新しいツールSystemDeskを追加しました。
