CAN in Automation (CiA)
CAN in Automation e. V. (CiA) is an international nonprofit association of users and manufacturers for the CAN (Controller Area Network) communication bus. The aim is to provide a platform for the promotion of CAN technology in different markets and future development of CAN-related specifications and standards, thereby supporting international standardization.
dSPACE is a member of CiA. The CAN technology based on the classic CAN communication bus and further protocol derivates including CAN FD, CAN XL, or CANopen, continues to play an important role for in-vehicle communication and similar applications in other domains. CAN communication protocols are implemented in several CAN-related dSPACE hardware and software products and solutions. The dSPACE membership in CiA is establishing a close connection to the CAN specification activities - to the benefit of dSPACE’s customers.
