About This Training
Errors during the ECU development process should be detected as early as possible. Thus, simulations and tests should be run in the early stages of the development process, preferably even before hardware-in-the-loop simulators or ECU hardware are available.
VEOS is a tool for the simulation of so-called virtual processing units (VPUs) on a PC, i.e., without additional hardware. The VPUs either implement software simulating the behavior of the environment or the software to be integrated on a real ECU later on. In the latter case,
we also talk about virtual ECUs (V-ECUs). VEOS allows interconnecting these VPUs either directly or via virtual buses so that delays caused by bus communication can also be taken into account.
Simulations running on VEOS can be accessed by the same tools as simulations running on hardware-in-the-loop simulators, i.e., ControlDesk and AutomationDesk. Therefore, VEOS can also be used to prepare simulation setups for hardware-in-the-loop simulations before the simulator
hardware is available.
The training course V-ECU Generation and Simulation is the successor of the training course "Virtual Validation". In that former training course the main focus was the generation of V-ECUs including their communication stack according to the workflow of the AUTOSAR Classic Platform (Level-2-V-ECUs). In the new training course "V-ECU Generation and Simulation" the focus will be on the generation and simulation of Functional Mock-Up Units without bus communication (Level-1-V-ECUs) and code-based Functional Mock-Up Units with custom communication stacks (Level-3-V-ECUs).
This training will help you progress.
To better understand the content of the training V-ECU Generation and Simulation, it’s suggested to attend the training System Modeling with SystemDesk beforehand.
