FAQ 467: Black Screen After Updating CodeMeter Runtime to Version 8.0

Question

After updating the CodeMeter Runtime to version 8.0, which is part of dSPACE Release 2024-A, Explorer.exe might not be automatically restarted, which can result in a black screen (missing Windows GUI). This problem only occurs under the Windows 11 operating system and only if an older CodeMeter Runtime version is already installed on the computer.
