Roadwork Test Scenarios for Automated Driving

The Task

Performing realistic simulations of roadwork scenarios in order to test automated driving functions, roadwork assistants and lane departure warning systems.

The Challenge

To define roadwork scenarios with irregular road markings, barriers, and other objects independently of the lanes. Use a line sensor to provide appropriate signals to ADAS algorithms.

The Solution

ASM supports all of the marking types included in the EU regulation (351/2012). You can now also create lines, barriers, and other objects independently of the lanes to create complex roadwork test scenarios. Their individual creation is supported by ready-to-use libraries and graphical means. To visualize the simulation of such scenarios, the 3-D animation software MotionDesk also includes an extended library with roadwork objects.
