Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) Simulation

Sensor Simulation supports entirely software-based testing by means of the SIL method. This makes it possible to test early in the development process and deploy the software on platforms, such as computer clusters, and in the cloud. In addition to sensor simulation, the Automotive Simulation Models (ASM) tool suite is used to simulate the motion trajectories of all participating vehicles as well as infrastructure objects, etc. The Virtual Environment Sensor Interface (V-ESI) transfers the data from the environmental sensor simulation to the sensor software to be tested.
