dSPACE Release 7.1 provides innovations for the following products and more:

February 21, 2011: Automotive Simulation Models (ASMs) 3.0
Version 3.0 of the Automotive Simulation Models (ASMs) introduces a whole range of new features: Simulation of the vehicle's environment has been extended to test GPS-based driver assistance systems. New, more detailed options have been added to the powertrain, wheel suspension and brake hydraulics models used in vehicle dynamics simulations. Specially optimized operator versions for offline simulations are now also available for the ASM Truck and ASM Trailer models. ASM 3.0 supports the new SCALEXIO® simulator hardware.

ControlDesk 4.1
Version 4.1 of experiment software ControlDesk® Next Generation can connect to dSPACE's new SCALEXIO HIL simulators. Extended support for the MicroAutoBox II prototyping platform enables hot plugging and the direct uploading of USB flight recorder data recordings. Numerous enhancements have been made in measurement (multiraster measurements), data set handling (editing), instrumentation (linking the Table Editor to any arbitrary axes in the model), and others.
A loader version of ControlDesk Next Generation is available free of charge for platform handling.

Extra Hardware Supported
SCALEXIO is a new generation of hardware-in-the-loop simulation systems. Its completely new hardware and software architectures comprehensively support all workflows relating to HIL tests.
The heart of the system is a real-time processor with the newest processor technology and standard interfaces such as USB and Ethernet. There are two new I/O board families – HighFlex and MultiCompact – to choose from, one with highly flexible individual channels and one with a very extensive range of channels, guaranteeing comprehensive flexibility and perfect adaptation to projects. The two board families also have a lot in common: a local PowerPC processor to perform signal conditioning and take some of the load off the real-time processor; integrated signal conditioning; and converters and parts of the electrical failure simulation.
All system configuration tasks are performed in the new ConfigurationDesk configuration software, minimizing the time needed to set up or adapt the system. The software also provides application-specific system representations that make it easy to keep track of everything. Moreover, virtual project planning can take place while the HIL hardware is still being set up, so that configuration work can begin at a very early stage.
