Data protection information for scholarship procedures

This data protection notice describes the processing of personal data in the context of scholarships of dSPACE GmbH, Rathenaustrasse 26, 33102 Paderborn (“dSPACE GmbH“).

With this data protection notice, dSPACE GmbH complies with its duty to inform pursuant to Article 13 of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). With regard to the terms used herein below, e.g., "personal data", "processing", "controller" etc., reference is made to the definitions in Article 4 of the EU GDPR.

(1) Details of the personal data processed

In the course of consulting, the application and selection process, and in connection with the administration of the existing dSPACE GmbH scholarships, personal data will be collected from you for the following purposes:

Date of birth

Nationality

University/University of applied sciences

University department

Field of study

CV plus enclosures

School-leaving certificate and other diplomas

II. Additionally, for scholarship administration

Banking details

Tax details

Marital status

Matriculation certificates

Current diplomas/grades

III. For statistical purposes

Anonymized data from Section I

IV. For processing of inquiries related to consulting

E-mail address and/or phone number and name, if required

(2) Legal basis

The collection of personal data in the context of consulting and the application and selection process as well as in connection with the administration of existing scholarships is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit.b. of the GDPR.

(3) Data transmission

dSPACE GmbH is required by law to transmit data.

This includes, among others, the competent tax authority.

In individual cases, data may also be transmitted to third parties on the basis of a legal permission, e.g., transmission to law enforcement authorities for investigation of criminal offenses under the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure (StPO).

If technical service providers are granted access to personal data, such access is based on a contract in accordance with Art. 28 of the GDPR.

(4) Duration of processing/deletion of data

Data of applicants whose application is not approved will be deleted or – if the data is in the form of paper documents – destroyed after six months.

Data of applicants whose application is approved will be deleted and/or destroyed one year after the termination of the scholarship agreement or one year after de-registration.

Data of applicants concerning the payment of the scholarship will be deleted and/or destroyed 10 years after expiration of the funding period.

Rights of the Data Subjects
The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning him or her are being processed (according to Art. 15 of the GDPR). This also includes the right to obtain from the controller the rectification of inaccurate personal data (Art. 16 of the GDPR), erasure of personal data concerning (Art. 17 of the GDPR), and right to obtain from the controller restriction of processing personal data (Art. 18 section 1 of the GDPR). Furthermore, you have the right to object to the processing of personal data (Art. 21 of the GDPR) as well as a right to data portability (Art. 20 of the GDPR)
