MONOCAB OWL Has the Answer

The project of the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Arts and its partners is working on an unconventional but brilliant idea:

Self-driving cabins run on single-track railway lines, simply called like cabs via app. Each cabin uses only one rail of the track, so several cabins can commute in both directions at the same time. The first test drives have been completed successfully on a historic railway line in Eastern Westphalia Lippe (OWL).
