Managing the increasing demand of electrical power onboard aircraft requires highly efficient power electronics. Moreover, with the help of intelligently controlled power electronics, voltages can be transformed in such a way that the different aircraft systems are always supplied with the required DC or AC voltages. To master the challenges in validation and verification of such control systems, a new technology has been designed for testing power electronics at full power. By combining the flexibility of proven HIL technologies with the testing depth of mechanical dynamometers and real-world tests, Power HIL systems from dSPACE bridge the gap between signal-based HIL testing and testing on dynamometers or in prototype aircraft.
