Deutsche Knochenmarkspenderdatei (German Bone Marrow Donor Registry)

Fighting Leukemia - dSPACE supports the German Bone Marrow Donor Registry

According to research, every 45 minutes a person in Germany develops leukemia. Many of the patients are children and teenagers.

Often, the transfer of stem cells is the last hope to save the patient’s life.

Only every third leukemia patient has a matching donor within the family. All others rely on nonfamily donors.

In 2007, dSPACE called upon its employees to take part in a typing campaign. Many employees decided to participate. The typing campaign was supported by dSPACE with a donation of 1,000 €. Stem cell donations can save lives. Therefore, it is a given for dSPACE to give employees time off to go to the hospital during work hours.
