wob-racing Team

The wob-racing team is an interdisciplinary project at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfsburg. In this project, 50 students from various departments, such as Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Public Health Services and Business Management, have the opportunity to gain practical experience in addition to their coursework. After the team was founded in 2003, wob-racing was one of the first teams in Germany to build a Formula Student racing vehicle with a combustion engine. Since then, the team has been dedicated to designing, building and testing a Formula Student racing vehicle. The team has been using MicroAutoBox II from dSPACE, especially while developing and testing the electronic stability control. In 2010, wob-racing decided to also build its first racing vehicle with an electric drive and is now focusing solely on this. The WR13 is the implementation of a new concept (2WD) with new motors and high-voltage systems. It is the team’s aim to participate in Formula Student events in Italy, Germany, and Hungary in the future.
