HorsePower Hannover e.V.

HorsePower Hannover e.V. is a Formula Student team that was founded in 2007 by students of the Leibnitz Universität Hannover.

The team currently has 63 members from various departments. Mechanical Engineering students make up the largest portion, followed be Electrical Engineering students and Industrial Engineering students. However, the team also includes students of Economics and Management, Computer Science, and Mechatronics.

The team’s most important goal for 2017 is designing and building a reliable vehicle to reach a place in the top 25 world ranking in the Formula Student Electric category. In the FS Driverless category, which will be judged for the first time this year, the team is aiming for a podium place. To reach its goals, the HorsePower team will participate in FS events in Germany, Austria, and Spain. This year, it will again be supported by dSPACE.

The team received a dSPACE MicroAutoBox II as a permanent loan. The MicroAutoBox II serves as the main ECU for the test bench. dSPACE is also sponsoring the required software package and training for two of the team members. In addition, the Driverless team received licenses for the MicroAutoBox II and for RTMaps.
