Team Elefant Racing e.V.

The Elefant Racing e.V. Team was founded in 2004 at the University of Bayreuth. At the beginning, the team developed racing vehicles with combustion engines, in 2010 it switched to electric drives. The team currently consists of 30 active students from different faculties, such as engineering, computer science, economics, and physics.

The team celebrated its greatest success in 2015 when it won the Formula Student Czech Republic and placed seventh at the Formula Student Germany. The current vehicle, the FR17 Wotan, is a systematic technological progression of the previous vehicle.

dSPACE has supported the team since it started developing its first electric racing vehicle. In 2011, the team used dSPACE MicroAutoBox as the board computer for the first time. Until today, MicroAutoBoxes with Simulink®  are used for controlling the test benches.
