The e-Traxx Düsseldorf e.V. team is the Formula Student team of the Hochschule Düsseldorf, University of Applied Sciences. The team was founded in 2013 with the goal to build a racing vehicle. Now it has completed its first vehicle. During the summer of 2017, the team wants to race the vehicle in the Electric category for the first time.
The racing car is propelled by two permanent magnet synchronous machines at the back wheels. A dSPACE MicroAutoBox II evaluates all sensors, is used for the implementation of control loops, and communicates with inverters and the battery management system of the rechargeable battery via CAN.
At the moment, 16 students from the electrical and mechanical engineering, computer sciences, and economics faculties make up the team. For developing the next vehicle generation, the team offers interested students the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills by working on a future-oriented, practical project.
