ATHENE Racing Team

The Athene Racing Team (Formula Student) was founded it 2011 by students of the Universität der Bundeswehr in Munich. The team is supported by sponsors and offers more than 30 students from different departments the opportunity to plan, design, and build a racing vehicle.

The team has been successful in Hockenheim, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Austria, but it also suffered a setback in Italy.

During a recent season, the team wanted to compete with its vehicle Phönix, a racing vehicle that they can rely on. As the previous vehicles, Phönix is equipped with a single-cylinder engine from KTM. A continuous front wing improves aerodynamics. A MicroAutoBox II from dSPACE captures the data of all sensors in the vehicle and allows for its documentation for later analysis. This simplifies data management and makes more efficient engine mapping possible.
