As a student at FER in Zagreb, I participated in Career Speed Dating event where I got in touch with dSPACE and few of their employees. From that moment on, I wanted to join this successful international automotive company. I applied and was fortunate enough to get a job as a student. Towards the end of my life as a student , I was offered the opportunity to join the team in a full-time posiiton upon graduation. It was an easy decision for me to accept the offer, as I had already formed strong relationships with my colleagues and was eager to continue my growth and development in the company.
Now, exactly one year later, I still feel honored to be part of this company. My journey at dSPACE started as a student assistant while I was in my final year at the university. At the time, I was a student and a programmer, with a heavy emphasis on the first one. Therefore, I wanted to experience the world of software development. The role of a student assistant gave me a sneak peek into the professional environment. I was determined to learn, grow, and prove myself.
During my time as a student assistant, I was working on an interesting project while also writing my Master's thesis, which was based on one of the functionalities offered by said project. Besides an interesting job description, I was happy to find out a healthy work environment and great work culture at dSPACE.
Upon graduating, I got an offer for a full-time position as a software developer at dSPACE. An offer I accepted without hesitation.
Today, I'm working on another interesting project, implementing my acquired knowledge through code, working on product support by tackling real-life situations a customer could encounter. Still, I am pushing myself to learn new things, as I'm looking up to more experienced colleagues.

It all started when I was returning from summer vacation with a friend, now my colleague, who told me about dSPACE, the main goal of the company, and their story. I had a little background in programming, simulation, and optimization which helped me in my application for a position at dSPACE. I applied for a position as a student employee, but I hadn't got a clue which position was suitable for me. There was an available space in software testing and based on my entry tests, I was most suitable for that position. The team gave me their full support and help that I needed during the onboarding process.
They agreed on part-time work because it would be too difficult to manage both studies and work on a full-time basis.
After almost a year at dSPACE, the company has decided to offer me a permanent position as a software test engineer after finishing my Master thesis at FMENA at the University of Zagreb. Now, I can fully dedicate my attention to developing programming and testing skills on available products.
Who knows, maybe one day I will have an innovative idea and we can develop a new product which gets the company into a whole new area on the market.
Your interview at dSPACE
We want to get to know you personally and learn everything about your career so far. Our interviews usually take place with an employee from the HR department and one or more people from the specialist department. We prepare our meeting with you so that we can understand your motivation and reasons for wanting the position. In doing so, we focus on specific topics, to get a complete picture of who you are. And, of course, we are also there to answer your questions.
