Software-defined vehicles (SDV) are transforming the automotive industry, offering more flexibility, efficiency, and adaptability than ever before. Wouldn't it be great if we could make this transformation safe, secure, and efficient, to reliably and fully integrate these vehicles into our digital lives?
What is an SDV?
The electrical architecture of an SDV is fundamentally different from that of a conventional vehicle. SDVs consist of one or more high-performance computers (HPC) and multiple zonal controllers and their application layer is separated from the hardware layer by a vehicle operating system (middleware). This allows the software to be flexibly expanded and adapted. Software updates are continuously received over the air (OTA) so that the vehicle's functions and capabilities can be constantly updated and improved. An SDV is upgradeable and maintainable throughout its lifecycle.
However, the increasing volume and complexity of software requires a new approach to its development and validation, and to ensuring vehicle safety and security. For example, cloud-native design paradigms are used throughout the development process. We are your partner to overcome these challenges with our solutions.
Let us convince you of our competencies
For decades, we have been one of the world's leading companies in the field of simulation and validation. During this time, we have continually provided the appropriate tools for all new technological achievements. Trust in our competence also for the development of your SDV and use our open but integrated solutions.
In these areas, we are at your side:
Modular and scalable middleware solution
With the RTMaps software development framework, multi-sensor applications can be easily prototyped and implemented in production vehicles. The RTMaps runtime is targeting ISO26262 ASIL B certification and enables reliable cross-domain communication and zero-copying data sharing for safety-critical applications, effectively providing a middleware. RTMaps supports various standards including DDS (Data Distribution Service).
Cross-domain SIL testing
Use VEOS, the PC-based software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulation platform, to integrate and test heterogeneous systems under test (SUT), models, and tools in one simulation. With high performance computing (HPC) on, for example, ARM and together with the strong capabilities of VEOS to simulate Zonal and Edge controllers, you can simulate complex systems that include all types of controllers of current and future E/E architectures in one simulation in the cloud.
Development support from start to finish
Developing complex E/E systems and software with ever more safety-critical functions, especially in the area of autonomous systems, raises the question of guaranteeing function reliability. That's why dSPACE offers end-to-end expertise in functional safety, test strategy development as well as verification and validation in complex E/E processes - to support you from the earliest project stages to homologation.
dSPACE systems are easy to get up and running – however, if a project is more complex, if individual solutions are needed or if there is high time pressure, you can also trust dSPACE's fast, competent and reliable engineering services.
