FAQ 153: Handling Exceptions on SCALEXIO Systems

Question

During execution of my real-time application, an exception is thrown, e.g., a memory violation exception. I would like to know the reason for the exception. Is there a known method or technique for handling this exception?

Example of an exception message available in the LOG window of ControlDesk/ConfigurationDesk:
Memory violation exception! Real-time application (ID …) crashed due to an illegal memory access at address 0xXXXXXXX. Execution stopped at address 0xXXXXXXXX near symbol '…'
