Update of the RTT Python 3.11 Bytecode Generator (Global Resource RTTGlobals) might be required 

Issue Description

When using dSPACE Real-Time Testing (RTT) before dSPACE Release 2024-B in combination with dSPACE Firmware Archives 24.3 or newer, an update of the RTT Python 3.11 Bytecode Generator (Global Resource RTTGlobals) is required.

The update of RTT Python 3.11 Bytecode Generator (Global Resource RTTGlobals) is backward compatible and can be installed in any case.

A new version of RTT Globals might be required because the Python version of the real-time part (RTLib/firmware) of Real-Time Testing is updated from Python 3.6 to 3.11 as of Release 2024-B.

With the newer firmware and without updating the bytecode generator, the following error message appears in the dSPACE log file:

Could not download the signal generator.
ID: 1051
Description:
Could not load to target. Reason: An error occurred while creating the stimulus sequence for SignalGenerator 'SignalSet'. Reason: RSM error. Could not prepare the following BCG file for creating a sequence: ……
Error: The following BCG file cannot be used for the Python version 3.11.6 on the real-time platform: …..
Possible reasons: - The syntax of the Python script or any imported modules is not correct or fitting the mentioned Python version.

Affected dSPACE software on the host PC

The following tools are using RTT technology and are affected by the issue:

• Real-Time Test Manager
• ControlDesk (Signal Editor, Bus Navigator)
• AutomationDesk (Signal Editor)
• XIL API .NET (Stimulus)

Affected dSPACE Platforms

The following dSPACE Platforms are affected:

• SCALEXIO Processing Unit
• DS6001 
• MicroAutoBox III (DS1403)
• MicroLabBox II (DS1203)

Solution

If you cannot use compatible dSPACE Tools from dSPACE Release 2024-B, you can install the RTT Python 3.11 Bytecode Generator (RTTGlobals).

This solution is applicable to dSPACE Releases from 2022-A to 2024-A. 
Older dSPACE Releases are not backward compatible.
