Rotary Steering Test Bench with Environment Simulation

This power steering test bench is used for release tests and tests during the entire development cycle with very high torque requirements up to 200 Nm. To precisely simulate the driver and road, the load motors are driven in position or torque mode. The integrated climate chamber lets developers simulate realistic environmental influences in the lab.

Features:

  • Steering test bench for electromechanical power steering with a servomotor on the steering column (C-EPS)
  • Synchronous motor for simulating the torques that result from the road forces and act on the steering column
  • Synchronous motor for simulating the driver torque and the steering wheel position
  • Prepared for virtual test drives thanks to the seamless integration into the ASM Vehicle Dynamics Model
  • Environment simulation controlled by the HIL simulator:
    • External AC unit
    • Stainless steel AC housing (-40 °C ... 120 °C)
  • Dimensions: 4.0 m x 1.5 m x 1.8 m (approx. 13.2 x 4.9 x 5.9 ft)
  • Weight: approx. 900 kg (approx. 1,984 lb)
  • Connected load: 12 kW (steering test bench without AC unit)
