MicroAutoBox Embedded DSU

The MicroAutoBox Embedded DSU (Data Storage Unit) is an optional extension to Embedded PC1) or Embedded SPU (Sensor Processing Unit). In combination with these systems, the Embedded DSU represents an optimal solution for mass data logging use cases.

Extension to Embedded PC1) or Embedded SPU

Applications in fields such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automated driving, self-driving vehicles, and robotics produce large volumes of sensor and vehicle network data. For testing purposes, this data needs to be continuously recorded and played back in perfect synchronicity. To conveniently process such large volumes of data while prototyping the associated algorithms in the vehicle, a high-performance mass data storage solution is required. MicroAutoBox Embedded DSU (Data Storage Unit) is tailored to this use case. Connected via four fast SATA 3.0 interfaces, it can host up to four SSDs. They provide up to 8 TB of mass data storage capacity for data logging in combination with MicroAutoBox Embedded SPU or MicroAutoBox Embedded PC1). An optional PCIe plug-in board for connecting the Embedded DSU to a PC is also available, making data readouts easy and convenient.


1)  The required SATA interface is available only on MicroAutoBox Embedded SPU and on the MicroAutoBox Embedded PC variant with a sixth-generation Intel® CoreTM i7-6822EQ processor.
