Extensions for Bus, Network & RAW-Data Interfaces

AUTERA AutoBox can connect to automotive buses and networks directly without the requiring additional external boxes. It can be equipped with the following interfaces:

Ethernet Support

DS7333-PE: 4x Ethernet Controller 10/100/1000 MBit/s (configurable for standard and automotive PHY)

  • Use case: Prototyping of sensor fusion and perception algorithms with full support for communication matrices, e.g., AUTOSAR XML or FIBEX, and SOME-IP execution

DS7335-PE: 4x Ethernet Controller 10/100/1000 MBit/s (configurable for standard and automotive Ethernet PHY)

  • Use case: RAW Ethernet data logging without support for communication matrices e.g. AUTOSAR XML or FIBEX and without SOME/IP execution options

DS7336-PE: 2x Ethernet Controller 100/1000/10000 Mbit/s (10 GBASE-T)

PHY modules for DS7333/5-PE:

  • Automotive Ethernet PHY (100/1000BASE-T1): DS7330_M1
  • Standard Ethernet PHY (10/100/1000BASE-T): DS7330_M2

CAN Support

DS7342-PE: 8 x channel CAN/CAN FD board with Bus Manager support

  • Use case: Prototyping of sensor fusion and perception algorithms with full support for communication matrices, e.g., AUTOSAR XML or FIBEX

DS7343-PE: 8 x channel CAN/CAN FD Board without Bus Manager support

  • Use case: RAW CAN/CAN FD data logging without support for communication matrices, e.g., AUTOSAR XML or FIBEX

Camera RAW Data Support

For easily connecting various camera sensors RAW data interfaces such as GMSL or FPD-Link can be integrated into the AUTERA AutoBox by means of a modular frame grabber card.

AUTERA Frame Grabber:

  • Modular PCIe based card that supports various serializer/deserializer
  • Various configuration options, e.g., direct connection to cameras for prototyping, TAP²⁾ mode used for data logging or replay mode to generate raw data for open-loop data replay tests
  • Off-the-shelf bundle to support Sekonix cameras

Sensor Data Interface (SDI)

AUTERA Sensor Data Interface as external unit featuring a 10 GbE connection¹⁾

  • Modular approach to support various serializers/deserializers
  • Can be placed in close proximity to the sensor
  • Two 10 GbE interfaces for data streaming to AUTERA AutoBox
  • One 1 GbE interface for time-synchronization and configuration
  • Various configuration options, e.g., direct connection to cameras for prototyping, TAP²⁾ mode for data logging or replay mode to generate raw data for open-loop data replay tests

Time-Synchronization

All AUTERA extensions are time-synchronized and take time stamps directly when receiving the data. The AUTERA software stack automatically synchronizes the times between the different interfaces and between multiple AUTERA systems.
