May 03, 2012: dSPACE Release 7.3 adds numerous new functionalities to many dSPACE tools – here's an overview of the most important new features:
ASM 3.2/ModelDesk 2.5/MotionDesk 3.0
The dSPACE Automotive Simulation Models (ASMs) have been optimized for the simulation of scenarios involving camera-based driver assistance systems. New functions for defining several lanes on virtual roads and an additional sensor model for lane recognition make developing lane departure warning systems and lane change assistants much easier. Together with the 3-D animation software MotionDesk, it is also possible to set up systems that intuitively test camera-based traffic sign recognition. For example, the signs can be placed directly in the virtual world of MotionDesk. The roads, maneuvers and virtual environment are created with ModelDesk's convenient graphical user interface, and the traffic signs can be evaluated in real time with MotionDesk's highly realistic graphical representation. In combination with MotionDesk, the ASMs provide a comprehensive solution for simulating complex traffic situations, including realistic simulation and animation of the traffic environment. The models are available as open Simulink® models for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation and as special Operator Versions for offline simulation.
The new version of ConfigurationDesk supports multicore applications with SCALEXIO HIL simulators. Individual models can be used for each processor core so that the models can be developed in parallel in Simulink, with short loading and initialization times. An alternative procedure is to create one overall Simulink model and perform complete offline simulation in Simulink. The subsystems can then be distributed flexibly to the processor cores. The new build configuration sets are a convenient way to manage different model-specific build configurations.
In addition to the SCALEXIO boards supported so far, ConfigurationDesk now also supports the new DS2907 Battery Simulation Controller.
ECU Interface Manager 1.1
The new version of the ECU Interface Manager provides extended options for finding ECU variables and ECU functions quickly and intuitively, even in very extensive code. Context menus now make typical work steps easier – configuring bypass projects, inserting bypass hooks into the compiled ECU software, and so on. The binary code parser has been optimized to evaluate even very complex code structures. Users are informed if there are A2L variables for which no accesses were found in the code.
