Developing and Testing DC/DC Converter Functions

Published: January 17, 2018

In modern vehicle concepts (e.g., hybrid drives, e-vehicles), a DC/DC converter connecting the high-voltage and low-voltage systems is an important component in energy management.

The control strategy in the associated electronic control unit (ECU) determines the load flow between the different voltage levels and therefore influences the entire behavior of the electric drive system.

Developing converter functions

The modular hardware concept of dSPACE RCP systems enable flexible adaptations to changing requirements. Fast iterations are possible by implementing control algorithms automatically on the hardware at the click of a button.

Testing power electronics control units

For testing DC/DC converter functions, dSPACE offers FPGA-based solutions for topology based implementation as well as open real-time models for different converter topologies.
